Open to anyone needing contraception (no GP registration required); safeguarding processes apply for under-16s; all supplies are free of charge.

NHS Flu & COVID Combined Vaccination Service
Combines the seasonal flu and COVID-19 boosters in a single pharmacy visit where a patient is eligible for both under the national programmes. Available only to patients who fall into both sets of NHS-eligible cohorts for that season.

NHS Flu Vaccination (Seasonal)
Annual NHS-funded jab that reduces the risk of catching seasonal flu and developing serious complications, delivered under the national flu immunisation programme. Free to NHS-eligible cohorts (e.g. 65+, pregnant women, those in a clinical risk group, carers, eligible children) as set by the Green Book/JCVI each season.

NHS Free Blood Pressure Check
NHS-commissioned hypertension case-finding check, based on NICE guidance (NG136), to spot undiagnosed high blood pressure before it leads to stroke or heart attack. Provided opportunistically to walk-in adults or by GP referral; raised readings are followed up with ambulatory monitoring and a GP referral.

NHS Stop Smoking Service
Face-to-face and telephone behavioural support plus nicotine replacement therapy (NRT)/stop-smoking medicines to help someone quit, in line with NICE guidance on tobacco dependence. May be a locally-commissioned service (any local smoker) or NHS England's hospital-discharge pathway (must have started a quit attempt as an inpatient) — commissioning varies by area.
Pharmacy First

Acute Sinusitis
Pharmacy First clinical pathway: assessment and treatment of acute sinusitis, including antibiotics only where red flags are absent and symptoms meet the clinical criteria. Available to patients aged 12 years and over, under the national clinical pathway.

Acute Sore Throat
Pharmacy First clinical pathway: assessment for acute sore throat using a validated scoring tool, with antibiotics supplied only where clinically indicated. Available to patients aged 5 years and over, following the national clinical pathway and safety-netting advice.

Earache
Pharmacy First clinical pathway: assessment and, where appropriate, antibiotic treatment for acute otitis media (earache) in children. Available to patients aged 1–17 years; note that distance-selling (online-only) pharmacies cannot provide this pathway.

Impetigo
Pharmacy First clinical pathway: assessment and antibiotic treatment for impetigo, a contagious bacterial skin infection. Available to patients aged 1 year and over, under the national clinical pathway.

Infected Insect Bite
Pharmacy First clinical pathway: assessment and, where indicated, antibiotic treatment for an infected insect bite to stop it worsening or spreading. Available to patients aged 1 year and over, under the national clinical pathway.

Shingles
Pharmacy First clinical pathway: assessment and antiviral treatment to reduce the severity and duration of shingles and lower the risk of complications. Available to patients aged 18 years and over, under the national clinical pathway.

Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) (Women 16–64)
Pharmacy First clinical pathway: pharmacist assessment and, where appropriate, antibiotic supply for an uncomplicated urinary tract infection, following the national clinical pathway and PGD. Restricted to women aged 16–64 years; men, pregnant women, children, and women over 64 must be referred on (e.g. to a GP) rather than treated under this pathway.
